Good Roads! Bad Roads! Potholes! Rocks or Slippery surface, Mahindra Scorpio will not let you feel it. The new muscular 2009 model is reported to offer good manoeuvring and power. Mahindra launches the new model, Mahindra Scorpio 2.6 DX with macho muscular looks and well done interiors to look very impressive. The model asserts a maximum speed of 152 kms / h, with a mileage of 9.8 kmpl in city and 12.7 kmpl in the highway.

Engine Specifications

The model rolls out of the manufacturer’s powered by a 2.6L 115bhp Turbocharged, CRDI Engine with Intercooled 4 -in line cylinders. The Diesel engine can claim a maximum power of 116.6 PS @ 3,800 rpm and 28.3kgm@1,700-2,200rpm torque. The Mahindra model fitted with the 2609cc V8 engine, offers a 2WD drive type and 5 speed Manual Transmission. The fuel tank capacity of the engine is 60 litres.

Performance

The Mahindra Scorpio 2.6 DX offers anti-roll bar for its front suspension and Multi-link for the rear suspension. It also features coil-spring for the both rear and front suspension system. The front brake comes in Disc type, whereas the rear brakes continue with the older version of drum to lock the tyres. Meanwhile, the vehicle comes with a power steering with collapsible steering column. The turning radius or the steering wheel base is estimated at 5.6m.

Other Specifications

Fitted with a 235/70 R16 Tubeless Radial Tyre, the vehicle also offer 5 doors. Other features offered by it include Air-conditioner, Power Windows and Central locking systems. Mahindra Scorpio has cargo volume of 460 litres with 2 year period Warranty and 50,000 km Warranty Distance.

Rated very high in reliability and looks, the vehicle is said to be very apt for off-road trips. The vehicle with good space inside can seat up to 7 or 8 people making it useful for medium sized families to go on long trips. Claiming a decent fuel economy the vehicle also offer good manoeuvrability. However the vehicle does not offer a CD player or Leather Seats.
