Nissan, a major Japanese Automotive Manufacturer will roll out its new hatchback, the Nissan Micra in India, soon. The expected date of launch is reported as either June or July 2010.

Nissan plans to introduce this small hatchback model in the Indian market, in co-operation with Renault.

The Automotive Company has just build a manufacturing plant in Chennai, together with Renault, as an attempt for this launch. Nissan has also put in 4,500 crore rupees for the same.

The Nissan Plant is estimated to have a yearly production capacity of cars as 4 lacs unit. However, the company has decided to turn out only 2 lacs cars as of now. Known as Nissan March in the Japanese market, the Nissan Micra in India is expected to be one of the seven new models due for introduction in the Indian Market by 2014 or 2015.

Other models due to roll out in India are Nissan Murano in SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) segment, Nissan Qashqai, Nissan ULC, Nissan Pixo and Nissan 370Z.

Nissan Micra, coming out in six variations with options for 2 diesel and 4 petrol engines will also feature both manual and automatic transmission.

The petrol deviations will be available in two engine choices of 1.2L, 1240cc petrol engine delivering a power of 80PS as well as the 1.4L, 1386cc petrol engine with 88PS of power.

Nissan Petrol Variant

The 1.2L, 1240cc petrol engine featuring MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) system and manual transmission gearbox delivers fine performance and acceleration. The car is expected to go beyond the 100kmph mark in only 13.5 seconds, providing a top speed of 167kmph.

The car offers mileage of approximately 13.5kmpl in city and 18.6kmpl mileage on highway. It also generates a maximum power of 80PS at 5200rpm with 110Nm of maximum torque at 3600rpm.

Then again the other variant equipped with the same engine featuring automatic transmission gearbox will offer a mileage of12kmpl for the city and 16.5kmpl mileage on highway. It will also deliver lower acceleration, with the car overcoming the 100kmph mark in 17.9 seconds to reach the estimated premium speed of 145kmph.

Nissan Micra, a small hatchback stylish to look at have elegant front and stylish headlamps and fog lamps positioned alongside its grille in the front. It also features body colour bumper, Body-colour door mirrors, Sporty Bumpers, Alloy Wheels, Silver finish Door Handles, Tinted Front Headlamps Covers or more.

The car can easily accommodate five people. The exterior dimensions of Nissan Micra are –length 3,719mm, width 1,660mm, height 1,580mm, claiming a wheelbase of 2430mm. Meanwhile, each and every four wheels of this car will be filled with puncture resistant tubeless radial tyres with size of 165/70R14 and 185/50R16.

The interior features of the vehicle that offer the much required ease also include power windows, power steering, leather covered gear knob, Digital Clock, Tachometer, Front and Rear Door Pockets, Front and Rear Cup Holders as well as Leather Upholstery.

The different variants of Nissan Micra petrol models are Nissan Micra XE, Nissan Micra XE Plus, Nissan Micra XL and Nissan Micra XV.
