Best car manufacturers like BMW believe that cruising around the roads with the tops of their cars down seems to have caught up with the present generation, of even India.
In keeping with this scenario, they have introduced their third convertible, the 330d in the Indian market.
Other convertibles to have already made in-roads to the Indian markets are its Z4 model, introduced two years back and the latest 6-series, launched this March.
This latest 330d convertible offers a hard top manufactured out of metal, which can also be folded. It also has a three piece roof in place of the two piece.
It also features 2 doors and the back seating is limited.
Meanwhile, featuring the same 2993cc, straight six diesel motor engine as that sported by the larger 530d saloon, the vehicle can generate 243bhp power and torque of 55.1kgm.
This lightweight 3 series model, the 330d reported to have reached the country, as a completely built unit is also expected to be made available at an ex-show room cost of about 57 lakh rupees, in Delhi.
The pricing is believed to be nearly 25 lakh rupees over that of the elite top-down 320d saloon, even as it is 5 lakh lesser than Z4.
Other features found loaded on the vehicle includes the pair of seats offered most apt to accommodate children or for small travels.
The diesel engine is also expected to make it a hit in the country. In the meantime, the bookings for this variant, is already believed to be underway.
